Bienvenue au Grand Jamboree iGEM 2022!

Two years, 359 days, and 18 hours. That’s how long it’s been since people have been able to join together in person for the most important global synthetic biology gathering. Today, iGEM is welcoming the world to the Grand Jamboree in Paris! 

It’s been a long journey, and there have been many setbacks and triumphs along the way. Yet, here we are together in Paris. Some of us are here in person, and some of us are here through remote connections. What’s most important, however, is that we are here.  

Over the next 3 days, you will see the future leaders of synthetic biology demonstrate their ideas, initiatives, and innovations for solving local problems and tackling global challenges using the tools of synthetic biology. You will learn what it means to innovate responsibly, to fully consider (and deliver) biological solutions that are safe and secure, to work together in a manner that is respectful and inclusive of people from many backgrounds. And you will glimpse what the future of synthetic biology may hold.
