Last chance to become an iGEM Judge for 2024!
Right now, the world is excitedly watching the Summer Olympics taking place in Paris. For some, the Olympics offer a glimpse of impressive athletes and teams who have committed to their sport to compete at the highest level.
In October, there will be another Olympics (of sorts) in Paris, where the participants are no less impressive and no less committed – the iGEM 2024 Grand Jamboree – the World Expo of synthetic biology and the culminating event of the iGEM Competition.
Many of you have experienced the thrill of being an iGEM Competition participant. If you are an iGEM alumni or otherwise have a strong knowledge of and value for iGEM, then you can experience the excitement of being an iGEM Judge.
Being an iGEM Judge is incredibly fulfilling and worthwhile, whether you're returning as a veteran judge or are a new judge this year. If you judge this year, you'll gain the experience of a lifetime as you:
mentor teams by giving positive, constructive feedback,
identify areas of excellence that deserve to be celebrated through awards,
connect and work with your peers and fellow judges from around the globe, and
take part in shaping the next generation of researchers, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
This year will be our strongest year ever for iGEM’s Judging community. We aim to send a record number of 500 invitations to people all around the world to become Judges for the iGEM 2024 Competition. We’ve already filled 80% of the judging seats and time is running out – the deadline to apply to be an iGEM Judge is August 30.
